Just as speculative a threat as "maybe Saddam will team with Al Qaida". North Korea is a real threat to South Korea, our troops there and themselves. That's about it. 1 - When you are talking about nuclear weapons you have to be prepared to deal with speculative threats. Esp. when it take a long time to build an effective defense. 2 - Its a lot more likely then Saddam and Al Qaida teaming up. The odds of new countries getting long range missiles over the next couple of decades closely approaches 100%. 3 - A threat to South Korea and our troops is a threat we have to deal with, also their missles can reach further then to just South Korea. They could hit a big chunk of Asia. 4 - The threat from Russian and Chinese ICBMs is not speculative. __________ SDI needed a lot more testing. You dont fund production of a product before you know it works. Just lousy business sense. A lot of the testing will have to be done on fully integrated systems. We have to build a rudimentary defense system to test defense systems. Tim
