If this country is broke, then why is Bush giving away hundreds of billions to the very wealthy, starting an expensive war we could avoid safely, and cutting government revenues by record amounts? I agree this country is on its way to being broke. Just like many states are now. I fully expect a trillion buck deficit by 2004, and more if Bush gets re-elected. Because one thing Bush will never do is raise taxes. In his mind that's what defeated his father. That and being a "wimp". So he acts as macho as possible. But what he doesn't realize is why his father needed to raise taxes, to pay off the record Reagan deficits. As for smaller government, forget about it. Bush is creating a huge government, bigger than ever before. But still giving out corporate and upperclass welfare like it was candy. I just dont think he gets it. You cannot have it all. Someone has to pay.
