Why don't you use a margin account and just trade up to the limit of your cash? The only real advantage of using a cash account is that your stock cannot be borrowed for shorting. Do you trade stocks that have high short action? If so, that could be an issue.

Aslo, I don't understand the difference between the Datek and Ameritradee accounts. When I go to my Datek account, it now says Ameritrade. What is the difference and why don't you want to let them switch to Ameritrade?
