Some people could see putting money and career and self promotion ahead of beliefs as selling out. Sometimes indignation is justified- and people who are very indignant about war, and waging it for less than compelling reasons, might feel it was more important than anything else. People I know with sons of draft age certainly feel it is. I can understand that.
