Industry conditions are getting worse.
Applied Materials sees Q1 orders below target (12.95)
Semiconductor equipment maker warns that it expects Q1 orders to be below the target provided during its Nov conference call. Now sees Q1 orders down 35% sequentially vs previous guidance of a 20% decline. "Due to ongoing economic weakness and geopolitical uncertainties, customers deferred capital expenditures, causing a larger order shortfall than expected."
