Which is Bush's base.

What is "Bush's Base?" I think about 40% of the voters will vote Republican no matter what. So that is his base. The Catholic vote goes both ways, so you can't claim that in the base on this issue, which leaves you with the Evangelical. Here is a quote I "googled" from the ACLU Voter Forum.

"Incumbent Georgia Democrat Max Cleland lost 56 percent to 40 percent to GOP challenger Saxby Chambliss among the 44 percent of evangelical voters."

So it looks like a lot of Evangelicals vote Democratic, John. I doubt if the "Plus" split of the Evangelicals accounts for more than two percent of his base, if that.

You really ought to get off that "Religious Right Bush's Base" kick. It sounds like Win's "Cheney and his Friends," routine.
