I made $800,000 once over two years and paid $220,000. Sheltered some, spent like crazy because taxes were an incentive to spend, everything I did almost was a write-off, invested and hired 70 people on a project. The system works, my friend. My only problem was I stopped making the big bucks after that. Working on it again, but not easy during the Bush years to make any real money unless you're a sports or movie star. Or if you sell weapons or security systems. Or are a member of the Carlyle Group. Notice by the way that the 25% I paid is actually less than your average wage-earner of $50,000 with their payroll taxes and FICA. And you still want tax cuts for the very rich?
