Ted, <If he's as good as the GOP thinks, there should not be a problem.> You would think so, but that's never the case when it comes to judicial nominees. Every nominee is subject to a bitter partisan fight. Both parties know that it's their political duty to stuff the courts with judges sympathetic to their side. It doesn't matter if you're the majority party in the Senate or not. You do whatever it takes, and the heck with filling vacancies or moving forward in government. Qualifications have nothing to do with it. Any view you hold is viewed as a "disqualification" by the other side. Heck, even if you don't hold any views, you are accused of being a "stealth candidate" by the other side. Is this obstructionism exclusive to the Dems? Definitely not. But right now it's their turn to be the obstructionists, and if they keep this up, they'll retain this role for years to come. Tenchusatsu
