"The Bookshelf" at NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) is a growing collection of biomedical books that can be searched directly. FL sez, "Check it out."

BACKGROUND
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov:80/entrez/query/Books/Help/back.html
The first book to be made available at NCBI was Molecular Biology of the Cell, 3rd edn, by Bruce Alberts, Dennis Bray, Julian Lewis, Martin Raff, Keith Roberts, and James D. Watson, published by Garland Publishing, Inc. Molecular Biology of the Cell is one of the most widely used undergraduate textbooks in molecular and cell biology.

The wide use and positive feedback from people using the book at NCBI, as well as significant interest from other authors, editors and publishers has meant that we have expanded the project to include more books.
