>All in all, esecurities don't you think the TMSR/NASCAR story is greatly under appreciated at the moment?
Yes, by a considerable amount. Your post provides further confirmation. The fact that this sector is providing TMSR with its record growth and dominant market share, the NASCAR license 1) is insurance that this trend a) continues and b) obviates competition and 2) establishes a quasi-monopoly. What the street will ultimately place on that unequivocal fact is anybody's guess.
The Top Gun story also has been overlooked. Microsoft appears to have taken share in the flight control market as everyone including the fool is suggesting. The facts are the SideWinder is a marginal product which was the victim of the Microsoft marketing juggernaut which allegedly may entail tie-ins, predatory pricing and off-record pressure on retailers distribution channels. In the short-term it appears Microsoft should be feared. In the long-term Microsoft will most likely sustain significant inventory obsolescence write-offs/downs/charges with the SideWinder line, which will be buried in the financials. Again, will a consumer choose a Top Gun or SideWinder FlightStick at $39? TMSR is playing it smart. Microsoft is doing nothing more than attempting to buy the market. Again, in the short-term it appears Microsoft is doing it again. In the meantime, and this should not be overlooked, and with Microsoft dumping joystick product in every retail chain, in every aisle, with massive POP displays, worldwide, incessantly over the past 18+ monthsTMSR is reporting record revenues and earnings. Hello! analysts!? MSFT is the david copperfield of retailing doing nothing more than attempting to create illusions and self-fulfilling prophecies through textbook advertising, media and consumer exploitation, preemptive marketing strikes with surgical precision, etc based upon marginal product. Some analysts are buying into this intellectually void yet convenient argument apparently. Microsoft also has a branding problem with its attempt to now try to convince the world it knows hardware. Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Driving Wheels. Hunts Ketchup. Hunts Tractors. We'll stick with John Deere. Just as the consumers will ultimately stick with TMSR when the mirrors and smoke clears. |
