If trades are not monitored, or if greed gives way to hope, then trades become "investments".

I agree that trading has to be given another name. The present negative connotation is partly because of the long bull-market that we've been through. As time passes on and people realize that the bear is here for a long stay, trading will not only be looked upon more positively, but as the only thing in town.
