Making a point here rather than FADG.
Many say we should defer to Europe on issues like Iraq. They claim we are being cowboys, don't understand foreign affairs, that our leader is an idiot, that the US doesn't understand.
One would therefore infer that Europeans know more, act more sophisticated, are more worldly, and have leaders which by and large are not idiots.
So given this disperity, what events can Europeans point to in establishing their own credibility? Did the US cause WWI, WWII, did we teach terrorists to take hostages and you will be rewarded, did we side with terrorists against democracies? What country devoid of European sophisitican came up with the Marshall plan, NATO, and sponsored the UN? Whose policy caused the collapse of the Berlin wall? Who'se efforts made communism and the threat to peace that it represented fail?
The idiots, cowboys, and fools of the US have little to be lectured about. I'm wondering what good idea's (other than the Beatles, the Stones, the Who, and CREAM) came out of Europe in the last 100 years?
