Sorry Lou, but I just disagree.

First there is no doubt in my mind as to AlQueda's responsibility and I know of no authortitative evidence to the contrary.

I don't hink we can just do nothing and expect the problem to go away. Again I am heavily influenced by my read of "Chaostan" which explains the history of the situation, the politics and for that matter the religion.

The bottom line is there is a radical element of Islam which is out to destroy the West. My view is we let that happen or we protect ourselves. I am in the protect ourselves camp. I do not believe that those who essentially advocate doing nothing and hoping the problem will go away are being realistic.

If I were Bush my approach would be close to his. Is there a risk? yes. But there is in my judgment a bigger risk if we do nothing.
