I agree that a healthy Netscape is a good thing. I'm sure that if Barksdale left, it would cause major ripples. I don't think you'll have to worry about that though. Barksdale seems very happpy at Netscape. He'd have to be a starry eyed, Mac fanatic that had always drempt of running Apple to walk away from an enterprise like Netscape. I hope the next CEO is someone that is well known, highly thought of and charismatic. Also, I hope he/she has the guts to tie their compensation to longer term performance of Apple's stock price, because they truely believe in Apple's potential and their own ability to turn that potential to profit. But there aren't too many Lee Iacocas running around these days, so I'm not holding my breath.
