this is about oil

Well, if you recall, I thought so last summer - shortly after the Iraq rhetoric began. I later changed that to include a mid-term elections component. But I've since come to believe that I was myopic. I believe it's about empire. Is there an oil component? Surely. Any modern empire needs a secure oil supply. But (IMO) Iraq is not an end, but a means to an end.
