It would be good to try some options other than direct combat. Resolution 687 and the several follow-on resolutions, including 688 which required end to the repression of the civilian populace provide the legal justification for a U.N. presence. There are resolutions upon resolutions. Israel has ignored resolutions regarding nuclear proliferation and is still in violation of 242 to withdraw to pre-1967 boundaries. It would be nice if we enforced ALL U.N. Resolutions rather than picking and choosing.
