If the US goes into Iraq then someone will have to pay for both the war and the re-building of Iraq.
Since the Arab nations and Japan won't foot the bill this time one could have the suspicion that Iraq's gold reserves will be used(confiscated).
In addition, there is the suspicion that the US gold reserves are not what they should be.
