I think it is a plausible scenario -- but it is made far less plausible because of the way we are going about it. This is, more than anything, a long-term war for the hearts and minds of future generations. That is why it is so important that we do not provide ideological ammunition to the forces arrayed against us. We do not help our own cause when we snub the UN.
