That was what I believed to have heard from a news source. The nation really needs to hear the president sometime today in order to confirm that this event had nothing to do with terrorism. NASA is preparing for a news conference.

Can't find confirmation on the president speaking from any news source. Only a few minutes away, so I guess we will see.

UPDATE:
It appears that I misunderstood. It was a "statement from the White House" that actually was given at noon. Another briefing is supposed to come in 1 hour.
