You had the first post on SI about the Space Shuttle
tragedy. (at 9:22 AM EST) I was late in tuning in , It makes me very SAD.
---
Looking at the news I'll just say what I told my
Daughter and Wife.
(1) It appears they did know about some debris from
the left wing ON THE LAUNCH.
While it goes the ground crew did not think it was of any consequence.
They screwed up.
The Shuttel crew had the gear to do a walk around the Shuttle in space, even if they didn't think anything was wrong a walk around would have been called for.
(2) If they found something wrong in a walk around, they
could have stayed in space until they could have
dock with another ship.
(3) The Big question I have now, ( was the crew of the
Space Shuttle even told about the left wing debris
during the launch ? )

It's so sad , and this question may look out of place
at this time..BUT it must be answered if we are to
prevent something like this again, and it's the least we
can do For Those who died.

The news media seems to be acting like a bunch of
expert monkeys about this.
