I never said "Grey Davis was to blame the the energy crisis." I said he was responsible for the budget crisis because he blew the enormous cash reserves CA haf buil up buying electricity to insure his own re-election. And, that in the face of 3 years of falling state revenue and a sinking state economy, he INCREASED, not decreased, state spending and employment.
Simon, his opponent in the last election, pointed something last night: during his campaign, Davis had insisted that the state budget deficit was small. Need that for re-election, right? Sure can't have the truth out there. Then a few weeks after the election, he suddenly "discovered" it was much worse than he had said.
Let's say he didn't know. In that case, he's guilty of gross incompetence and malfeasance of duty.
And if he did (and how could he not?), he lied to get re-elected.
This slimeball would make Slick WIllie feel proud. He should be recalled. |
