America's tragedies bear the stamp of greatness. Columbia had astronauts from at least three different countries. Challenger carried a teacher of children. World Trade Center had citizens of nearly 70 different countries.

We grieve because we lost our best, but not all of them. Not by a long shot. As long as we are free we will have Columbias and Challengers and World Trade Centers to grieve for.

I put my flag back up on the porch this morning.
