Unfortunately they had no Exit strategy in place.
They were not equipt for space walk or docking with the
space station or a secondary orbiter.
It is a sad day, and my condolences to all.
Another 2 1/2 year set back. Perhaps this might be a good time
for NASA to think about the new designs to replace the 30+
years old shuttle technology.
