Is that a barbecue, a mailbox, or some sort of birdhouse
hanging on the rail behind you?

I meant to tell you but I forgot. Ya know that Japanese
glass fishing float that you showed me? Well that was the
first time I ever heard of such a thing.

Well the second time I ever heard of such a thing was about
a week later at my Uncle Jerry's wake. There I saw my
cousin Linda who flew in from Oregon. Two days before the
wake she got engaged. I asked her future husband how he
proposed to her. He told me a story about how they had
been walking along the beach in Oregon one day and found
one of those fishing floats. He kept it and it reminded
him of Linda while he was back in NY. He's only got to see
her once in a while. Sort of a long distance relationship
they were having. Anyhow he had a small hole drilled in it
big enough to put the diamond engagement ring. He plugged
it up with a cork and presented her with it.

I thought it was a pretty cool coincidence since you had
just shown a picture of it to me after I had asked you
about it.

The dude seems pretty nice. They have known each other for
approximately 30 years. He's moving out there soon.

I thought it might have been more romantic if he had waited
for one of those computer monitors that you were talking
about to come floating by and to put the ring in there, but
what do I know...

He could have presented it to her while wearing his new
found thong.
