which leads, for no particular reason, to a very serious matter, the old old hit song "Yes we got No Bananas" may come true. Banana trees are being hit by a devastating disease that could make the banana tree extinct.
The ever objectivist trader in me is thinking "hmmm, i wonder, do they have futures in Bananas?Wouln't this drive Bananas up to the price of Caviar??"
But my human side is thinking---
My gawd a world without bananas! Like the world singing out "Yes we got No Bananas" somehow is a scary idea.

The bottomline on reading this is , yes the Edible Delicious Cavendish Banana is in a potential extinction process. What happened to the price of bananas when the Michel Gros Banana started to die off and then went extinct?(the Cavendish replaced the Michel Gros)
