Hi Rudi!
I am in shock regarding the Space Shuttle. Today there was an absolutely gorgeous weather.
I hear that the boom in East Texas was huge. Fox News interviewed the pastor of Grace Community Church, in Houston. He made it clear that two of the Astronauts were members of his Church, and that their foundation was most definitely Jesus Christ! Tom DeLay, a Texas Congressman, said he recently met the commander at a Michael W. Smith concert, and the Comander said, "please pray for us and the trip." The ironic thing to me is that Michael W. Smith wrote an incredible song, "This is your time," for Columbine, and he has a real sense about "God's Providence,"and timing. He happened to be featured on Fox and Friends recently. He was singing songs and promoting his Praise II record. He was also discussing his close relationship with the Bush family, George 41 and 43.
He was praying for the crew all along. The Commander went to Texas Tech, and I just happened to live in Lubbock, Texas, briefly. I was very involved in the Community and with Texas Tech. A majority of all missions flown in the Gulf War, came from Reese Air Force Base, in Lubbock. That is when I was there, during the Gulf War. That base is closed now, due to budget cuts made in the Clinton years.
I was living in California, in the Challenger Explosion accident. I remember, teaching a 5th/6th grade combo class and we were watching the Challenger take off. That was not a great thing for them to watch.
As for today, now, we pray for their families and friends!
