what a romantic fellow - your cousin is
one lucky girl me thinks.

Yeah but I think he also tries a little too hard.
At least that was the impression I got.

Ya see, he's one of those guys that fug everything up for
the rest of us guys.

Here's an example.

He's headed out to Oregon to visit her a few months back.
He brings a dozen roses with him on the plane.

(The friggin security should have stopped him right then
and there for not protecting the average Joe's best
interest.)

So the dude has this bouquet of roses that I assume he's
got to hold for the entire flight and through the change
at O'Hare and whatever other gadforsakin airport he has to
change planes at. Finally after the better part of the day
of flying they are about to land in Oregon. He calls for
the stewardess and asks her to find 11 volunteers to each
take one rose to hand to Linda when they get off the plane
where she's waiting for him. One by one each passenger
hands her a rose. Little children, elderly ladies,
etcetera. All too friggin perfect.

So now, my cousin tells everybody about it which includes
all of our wives. But not only that, they tell their
friends and so on and so on. Before you know it other weak
guys begin doing it.

Before you know it the airports are filled with guys
schlepping roses with them through each and every
gadforsakin airport.

Meanwhile all we want to do it to go from point A to point
B with the least amount of hassle.

Some guys just fugitup for the rest of us.

Just wait. Some day he'll realize what a mess he's made.

how was the wake clappy? where there lots
of good stories and memories about uncle
jerry? lots of laughs? laughter is
important at wakes don't you think?

Yes there were lots of good stories and shared memories of
past fun. Lots of laughs. Lots of tears.

The wake and funeral did their job.
I left feeling much better than going there.
Like a huge amount of pressure was released.
Haven't cried in a while so it felt good to get it out.
Sorta like Dusty was saying yesterday. It's the first step
in healing.

I talk to Uncle Jerry each morning while looking out at the
stars and walking the pooch.

The dude knew how to make everyone feel special and loved.

Writing that letter to him was the best thing I could have
done. They think he was able to hear it read to him. But
best of all, my three cousins and Aunt Joan really enjoyed
it. It touched their heart as much as his. They thanked
me again and again. I did not realize how much they would
enjoy it.

Some how I got a signal that Uncle Jerry liked it too.
I think it was during his grandson's handshake. He did it
exactly the way Uncle Jerry shook your hand. A good grip
and with the other hand on your elbow or patting your back.
