MSFT is a bigger percentage of $NDX than it is of $COMPQ as far as I know.

Yes, I think MSFT is going down in flames and will take the major indices with it. New leaders will emerge but I have no idea which stocks to buy to ride the new leaders. For a guess at what might happen to NXTL, take a look at the UK cellphone market:

- Densely populated compared to US - hence more efficient networks
- Nearly as many cellphones as there are human beings
- No cellphone service provider makes a profit AND NONE EVER HAS
