Lizzie,

Are you in agreement or not with my first post, that the Fed model has inherent problems in it to a much greater degree today than it had in decades past, and that the quality of reported GAAP earnings today (an input to the Fed model) are heavily inflated by both stock options and pension income to a much greater degee that they have been in the past?

First you seemed intent on defending the conclusion of the Fed model--that stocks are undervalued, but now you seem to be acquiescing to my point that stocks may be generally overvalued, but you are now changing the point of argument to it doesn't matter if stocks are overvalued. This is a different argument than defending the Fed model that arrived at a conclusion that stocks are undervalued. Personally, I tend to think there may come a time when stocks are undervalued. Most bear market wring out the excesses of the previous bull and then some. With regard to tech, I don't think the excesses of the 1982 to 2000 period have nearly been wrung out yet.

Look at Amazon's balance sheet for example. It has one of the worst looking shareholder's equity sections I have ever seen, including negative retained earnings after have been in business for seven years, yet people still give it a $20 per share value.

Regards, Huey
