John, <We had a decent offthread discussion about nature/nurture arguments concerning homosexuality some months back that I had hoped would ease whatever problems you had with me>.

Personally, I suspect Jesus was homosexual [or bisexual at least]. If that was true, it would certainly get a lot of Christian fundamentalists off one of their favourite topics.

Evidence?

He wasn't married.
He didn't have children.
He hung out with a bunch of guy disciples.
He believed in universal love.
He was forgiving, recognizing human weakness.
He had defiant, creative, energy [like Queen the music makers].
He was unhappy with how things were.
He was killed by militaristic people [who definitely don't like poofters and any of that lovey dovey crap].
Women thought he was pretty cool [they love gays].
He didn't like violence.
He wanted peace in our time.
He wore a dress and long hair.

If it's true, I wonder how King George II would feel about it.

Perhaps it's simply not possible, because. Well, because. Well, because homosexuals are against God's will and shall be cast into a pit of brimstone and tortured for eternity. It's a crime against nature. It's a perversion. It simply isn't possible for Jesus himself to have felt like that. What's more, it would be really embarrassing for a lot of people. They need to save face. Imagine how Jerry Falwell would feel. Giggle.

Mohammed, on the other hand, peace be upon him [but definitely not homosexuality], was a real bloke. Had the girls lined up to Kingdom Come. He had a militaristic turn of mind, hacking infidels to pieces and converting everyone to his beliefs, which were very good for them [or at least very bad for them if they didn't]. He's got descendants all over the place - heck, everyone is called Mohammed.

Perhaps that's the underlying problem from the Crusades onwards. Mohammed's mob got as far as Spain, pushing one line, telling Christians that their homosexual beliefs are wrong. Christians, understandably, resented being made to give up their lifestyle and offered resistance.

And so it goes.

Round 12.... King George II and Dieu et Mon Droit vs Osama, Saddam and co with Allah Akbar.

The bell has sounded,
Mqurice

PS: FL will love this post <I try to make this a ZFZ (Zealot Free Zone). > It's such an anti-zealot promotion.
