I believe over 60% of the US population lives within an hour of a coast. So that will always be a draw. But the tech hot spots no longer have the lure that could hypnotize people into paying outrageous prices for houses. Money issues are the #1 reason for divorce. I'm afraid there could be a lot of broken 'homes' that were purchased over the last several years in what once were tech hotspots, as the resale values dip below outstanding mortgage balances.
