No more than a Jew ever standing a chance of ruling Saudi Arabia, or even Turkey, which has a democratic process...

Is there a Jewish minority in Saudi Arabia? I would be surprised, if so...

In Turkey, on the other hand, the Jewish minority is less than 50,000 people in a population of 65 million. I am not terribly shocked that they are not represented in the Parliament :-)

So what's the point??

You would agree, I guess, that the Arab population in Israel is somewhat more significant than the Jewish population in Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

What you're asking for, or seem to expect, from Israel is way beyond the pale when compared to that countries neighbors...

I didn't realize we could not ask a democratic country to be better than its non-democratic neighbours.

I suggest your time would be better spent worrying less about the flaws in Israel's constitutional democracy, and spend more time creating democracy and tolerance in the Arab world

I have been involved in serious efforts in that area & still contribute as I can.

please bear in mind that these neighbors made "rednecks" look like Ivy Leaguers... :0)

That sounds scary :-)
