>>The 20-inch monitors were very nice, and well-priced. But I was stunned to find the least expensive PowerMac with a SuperDrive is around $2600. Apple seems to have dropped the SuperDrive in the less expensive PowerMacs.

Well, there is no way I am going to pay $2600 for more Mac than I need just in order to get the SuperDrive.<<

It's possible to order the low end PowerMacs with the SuperDrive as an option for $200 more. So the least expensive brand new PowerMac (1GHz, 256MB RAM, 60GB HD) with a SuperDrive, is $1,699. It even has FireWire 800.

It took me less than sixty seconds on the Apple site to discover that. Didn't even need to run all over town. ;-)
