you have to figure initial request sent to the sat then beamed down to the ground station connected to internet back bone then the data requested beamed back up to the sat and from the sat back down to the user...depending on your latitude its roughly 100,000 miles for a data request to get filled not counting latency in the backbone itself...but ping times average about 800 ms or 8/10ths of a second.
