Not quite that quick. Out nukes are no faster then theirs and we are not on a hair trigger as much as we used to be. It might be several hours before NK started to glow.

I get your point. We probably have the power to deter NK, but I'd rather not depend on deterence if we don't have to. North Korea isn't the most sane or stable place. If they where pressed and under extreme pressure anything might happen. The odds are very low, but I don't want to risk it if we don't have to.

You ask why they would take that risk, I ask why would we take the risk that they might? Or that they might blackmail and intimidate with nukes without actually using them.
