For oil, about oil and in the name of oil, without ever admitting it. I agree. That said, if I were a CIA analyst and I saw the US woefully unprepared to wean ourselves off oil, I would be alarmed too. What if Saudi Arabia blows up against us again? What is more Venezuela situations arise? Even with Alaska wilderness drilling (God forbid) we have nowhere near enough. So where does it come from? As I've said before, I would respect Bush a lot more if he'd just admit his real motive for taking out Iraq. The major oil companies are already planning to re-build the Iraqi fields. I'm sure the Bush White House is also.
