Outrageous.....hardly? Its the only way to go. Getting rid of AA at this time is reactionary.

Ted even though I thin AA is outrageous that is not what I said. What I said was that it was outrageous to claim that without AA you don't have a color blind policy. This statement would still be true even if AA was a great idea and the only way to go and getting rid of it was both horrible and reactionary.

Or to state it another way you aren't really responding to what I said.

Not at all. In the 60s a lot of civil rights laws where passed that did not enforce or even support AA, and AA was not wide spread until the 70s. In any case since 1965 there have been many changes in this country on the issue of race both in law and in custom and this is true even without counting the affirmative action laws and their direct effects.
