I'm sure it didn't hit the wing even close to how fast the Shuttle was going, but it now seems to be the start of the problem. --- I just heard on the radio that there was a memo sent warning that "it may have caused serious damage ", however the upper management is saying they didn't think it was serious, "and that they didn't see any such memo". --- Also it seems they are saying they saw it in a review, ( implying they missed seeing it , in time to inform the crew in a timely manner.) -- Some other things I don't like, is at first they said they couldn't have done a space walk to check it out, Well it turns out there were 2 suites on the ship, -so they didn't have hand holds, ( they would not have needed anything but a tether line ) So they couldn't have fixed it and would have had to come down anyway..( bull with suites they could have gotten into another ship. Even a Russian one if need be.) -- We all know it's very risky, and even an escape procedure wouldn't be safe..and couldn't ever be made safe, ( hell it aint safe to get off a sinking ship into a life boat if your in a storm but we try it anyway. ) -- Maybe they wouldn't have had any options, but hell management didn't even try. I'm not happy that every time they talk they seem to be trying to get in front of things in such a way to just cover their ass. I will add , it's coming out faster and better than I thought it would. But I bet it's more because of the pressure being put on them, than any yearning to be honest. Jim |
