A friend of mine from another country told me he was shocked to find that the "conservatives" in this country were not for conservation of nature. He had always assumed that is one of the things they would be passionate about.

Another shocker for him was that they supported the death penalty. When told about these, his reactions was "Wow! Some conservatives!" It was almost like somebody telling him that up is down and down is up.
