What? Murrow ain't got no sense of humour? <gg> Well, really — platitudes address general situations which are cute and fuzzy most of the time. Miller was really pointing out a truth specific to this situation. How many times between GW1 and GW2 has Saddam actually kept his word? He's been importing stuff off the UN "no-no" list as recently as Dec. 2002. Blix even confirmed that on Jan. 27. So who's the ventrilouist in this act — Saddam, who's intent on circumventing UN regs or that Security Council clown car? Dennis Miller has way more credibility out of the whole deal.
