Not possible. Once the vehicle is set in orbit, only minor variations in the flight are possible. You MUST launch for and achieve an orbit that is in-line with the space station. Once the shuttle is in orbit it is essentially a glider.

Also, does The orbiter carry the docking system every time? I don't know but doubt it.

they could have had any number of military assets take a photo of it.

Possible but not useful. They have done this before. There was not enough granularity in the photo to be useful.

Lots of speculation and down right BS being posted here. Lets not pretend we know something we do not.
