King Abdullahs uncle, who had been next in line in Jordan has been involved in the Iraqi exile movement. Win, did you somehow stumble on to the truth here. or did you know that factoid already? Constitutional monarchy anyone?
Re: the Klein article. Perhaps there was majority support for a deal in the Palestinian community pre-Infitada--it doesnt exist now at all. And Nadine's numbers about Israeli acceptance of such a deal are probably too high as well.
The only hope i hold is that in two years, the Palestinians may come to their senses and both nations will have new leadership who politically will be able to strike a deal.. Sadat and Begin come to mind as unlikely peacemakers. What we need now is a two year cooling off period--no terror, no new settlements and a withdrawl from the indefensible outlying settlements by Israel. Thats the best i can come up with. Mike
