The only valid explanation I can provide is that gold stocks have to catch up with their great Nov2000-June2001 bull run. Although the divergence is worrying, you can be sure that if gold maintain its current trend, stock will explode upward in a not too distant future.

The question is what will gold do in weeks and month ahead.

Although I will say it with conviction once gold moves above the 1996 high, it now seems more and more evident the mother of all bull market has started.
