The right-wing shows itself to be very dangerous to democracy. When they're calling a moderate like Daschle a "communist", liberals "evil" and they're in power you know we have got to be on on guard. The link is Salon.Com, a liberal web paper, but doing some muckracking reporting there. You dont see the "liberal" major networks exposing these right-wing extremists who are now in league with the White House and all but running our country. Bush for instance talks about compassion and unity with Muslims publicly, but look at what his base thinks. They WANT war and blood. They are in a hateful frenzy. And they DO believe that anyone left of them is in league with the evil Muslims and trying to destroy America. They actually believe this scary tripe. It is very reminiscent of 1930's Naziism and their hatred of the Jews. In fact I'll bet if you compare speeches you'll find them quite similar. That said, some Muslims do deserve the cold bitter. But only the Bin Lauden types and their supporters. Those who cry Holy War are only playing right into Bin Lauden's hands. That's what he wants too. And any American who falls for it is potentially dangerous. Just like those Apocalylse watchers around Y2K. The next stop the Hale-Bop comet suicides or the Branch Davidians. Be aware, we may have as much to fear from right-wing terrorists as we do crazy Arabs. Do not forget Oklahoma City after all.
