I sold my Apple today, and I reverse installed my OS8 back to 7.6.0.
I think OS8 is the WORST upgrade I've ever tried, and I've been happily using Macs since 1988. Here's what's wrong...

Now Utilities Broken
Copy Doubler Broken - company won't fix
After Dark Broken
PopUpFolder Broken
Speed Doubler Broken

5% benchmark slowdown on 6400 200

Inexplicable additional boot time of 45 seconds while OS8 "tries" to find other servers in my zone - and eventually does. Do I really enjoy watching the cursor spin while the Mac tries to log on - normally that takes about 3 seconds of wait time during startup.

Strange Finder restart errors on several applications...

the list goes on.

I am not pleased.

I'll rebuy next year when Rhapsody comes out...imho OS8 is a desparation cash grab with ZERO incremental value other than slight "coolness" factor.

I will not throw away my investment in Third Party Utilities.

Cheers.
