Well, all of this would be fairly significant were abortions generally to occur in the fantastic circumstance of rape. There is an argument allowing for moral abortion of a child in the case of rape. I don't personally accept it, but if by my general acceptance here I would end my being forced to pay for the millions of abortions that occur for no valid reason, then I would consider it a good thing.

As for whether I have adopted an unwanted kid or paid for anything, that issue is irrelevant. I have done both and yet you will treat me just as you treat anyone who makes sense on this issue. So let's just drop the lie. As far as I am concerned, there are two issues that are most relevant:

1. Removing all metaphysics from the issue, it is a scientific fact that the unborn child is a human child. Issues of “personhood” do not exist here because they are metaphysical determinations not rooted in science. The conceptus is the human offspring of two humans, exactly one man and exactly one woman. It is not a mere blob of non-human cells having no attachment to humanity. It shares in the natural solidarity of man, being one of us at a stage through which all humans must pass, just as our fathers now are at stages through which we must pass. Though we may lack our fathers’ abilities, due to age and experience, we yet are no less human than our fathers because we have the same essential, self-expressing nature and human biological identity of our fathers. The scientific fact is that this nature came into being at the very moment we were conceived – not before and not later. The conceptus is scientifically no less human than we are.

2. Because the conceptus is scientifically one of us, I do not wish to in any way take part in killing one of us. That would be to act contrary to my own self-expressing human nature. I cannot stop pro-choicers from sinning against humanity, since the might of government supports them. But I must try to do what I can to stop them, especially since they force money from me to purposefully commit the sin.

So you ought not be so shocked that I would fight this issue. And my being a man makes no difference. Ultimately it is a matter of self-preservation because if you can arbitrarily decide to murder an unborn child, you can arbitrarily decide to murder me. Nature forbids you murder anyone, and so I aim to bring the fact of human nature before you every chance I get. Life is the basis in nature of our civilization– not murder.
