Al Gore is a military hawk. His military budget was larger than GW's. Gore has always been tough on military matters, though not a war-mongering neo-conservative chickenhawk by any means. Gore also volunteered for the Army and served in Vietnam. GW and Cheney both avoided the draft. GW even went AWOl from duty. Wherever you get this weak on defense BS it's crap. Clinton served as president in peace-time after record military build-ups in the 80's which we didn';t need anymore, muchb of it Cold War oriented stuff. Bush Sr. agreed and started cutting military and base closings. Ladership of both parties saw the wisdom in that. Only a few complained. Your mis-read of history is pathetic.
