Dipy, dipy, dipy.

"I think my friend's opinions were based on what he observed. Not on any biased or skewed sources, but just the plain news reports"

Did the "plain news reports" state that conservatives were against the death penalty? Or did they say that we hated the environment? Becuase if they did, I would submit that they were not "plain news resorts" They were biased news stories (although I doubt his opinions are "news" based.

"The commandment says "Thou shalt not kill" and doesn't specify any exceptions."

So what? What is your fascination with the bible? And why do you think it is so inextricably linked to conservatives? Last time I checked, Jesse Jackson claimed to be a minister. Bill Clinton claims to be religious. These people are hardly conservatives.

Last but not least, your original comparison of abortion and the death penalty was quite lame. You do know that unborn children are innocent, and that people that have been condemned to die by a jury of their peers have usually committed horific crimes against another human. Your not too dipy to understand the differences are you?
