The point is that this is not a stimulus package but a tax code change. If they wanted it to be so, fine. But call it a tax-code rewrite rather than a stimulus for the economy. Because it ain't gonna stimulate the economy.

If they really wanted to end double taxation AND stimulate the economy, let them not tax the companies that pay the dividends and retain the tax on the recipient of the dividend. This will result in more cash in the coffers of companies, which is more likely to stimulate the economy.

As it stands now, I probably get about 3 bucks more, thanks to the elimination of the dividend tax. I am going to "stimulate" the economy by buying large fries instead of small fries at McDonald's?!
