Offshore Computer Programming: WHY?

Because of the magnitude of the Year 2000 problem ... and the vast amount of manpower required ... there are not enough resources in the United States.

Increasingly, programmers are being recruited throughout the world. Programmers are jumping from company to company. They can write their own ticket.

From a stock standpoint ... profit margins can be adversely impacted.

Increasingly, "Offshore" programming companies with satellite capabilities are being utilized. While our computers are down ... people across the world are working on the problem. Programming "work day" is now 24 hours, instead of 8 hours.

India is 2nd to US with programmers & volume of programming. Offshore salaries are generally about 1/8 of what they are in US.
